**I'm only going up to Eleven since Twelve is the current Doctor, and has not yet regenerated.
First Doctor: Ian Chesterton
While I love Barbara as well, he really stole my heart as my favorite companion of the First Doctor. (Though Steven Taylor was a close second to him.) He's sweet and funny, and I love his relationship with Barbara. He's also very smart and noble, and I just love his personality. Even though most of the time he didn't really want to be with the Doctor and just wanted to go home, he was still an amazing companion.
Second Doctor: Jamie McCrimmon
The longest running companion ever in Doctor Who history! And also the best companion of the Classic Doctor Who era in my personal opinion. He's fiercely loyal to the Doctor, which I love. He may not be the brightest companion of the batch, but he knows how to be a good companion! He's strong physically, which helps in protecting the Doctor and the female companions. Just don't make fun of his kilt and you'll be fine! 😉
Third Doctor: Sarah Jane
I liked her much more during the Third Doctor than the Fourth Doctor to be quite honest. She was a great and strong-willed companion, who would do literally anything for the Doctor. At first, she's not quite sure what to make of him, but she quickly grew quite fond of him. And for that reason, she is my favorite of the Third Doctor!
Fourth Doctor: K9
Sorry, biological companions. No one can beat the adorable K9! He was seriously the best, and the Doctor's best friend! Though he beat him at chess, to the Doctor's dismay (though the Doctor will never admit to the defeat). He was so hilarious. I seriously loved him with the Fourth Doctor. But don't get me started on the fact that towards the end of the Fourth Doctor they changed voice actors, I was seriously so mad. Grrrrrrrr! But K9 (John Leeson, no one else) is the best. I seriously loved him.
Fifth Doctor: Vislor Turlough
I really have no idea why I love this character so much. I mean, the whole reason he ever meets the Doctor is so that he could kill him. (Rough start, right?) It would seem like I would hate him, but the Doctor's compassion for him, I think, is what officially made me like him. He's really funny, once he's out of the grasp of the Black Guardian, and I was really glad when the Doctor forgave him because I was already starting to really love his character. I was glad he chose with his heart in not killing the Doctor, and that really showed what kind of person he was. He didn't want to kill a good hearted man, the Doctor, all because he was being forced to, even if it meant he himself might get hurt. He's a seriously amazing companion.
Sixth Doctor: Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown
She is such a sweet girl. I seriously love her relationship with the Sixth Doctor. They're such an interesting team, once they got used to each other. I really seriously cried on her departure when she was supposedly killed and the Doctor was blamed. The Doctor is seriously so sweetly protective of her, that I couldn't help but love her too.
Seventh Doctor: Ace
The toughest girl companion that proved it! She destroyed a Dalek with a baseball bat (though enhanced by the Doctor). She loves to make explosions with her homemade Nitro 9 that the Doctor always tells her not to bring (though she never listens). She nearly always calls him "Professor" to my dismay, but no one could really stop her if they tried. (It's okay, though, because when he's in real danger she calls him Doctor.) I love her relationship with the Doctor, though. She is a lot like a female version of Jamie. She's very loyal to the Doctor and will risk her life to save his any day of the week.
Ninth Doctor: Rose Tyler
I am more okay with Rose during the Ninth Doctor since at this point she hadn't betrayed the Doctor and she was more loyal to the Doctor then. She never wanted to leave his side, and he risked his life to save hers. I mostly like her because the Doctor likes her at this point. Honestly, if the Ninth Doctor had had another companion other than Jack and Mickey, I'd probably choose them instead of Rose because I don't like her much now after Journey's End.
Tenth Doctor: Donna Noble
The sassy best friend of the Doctor. She is seriously my overall favorite companion ever in all of Doctor Who (and I can say that because I've seen it all, bruh). She is hilarious and so loyal to the Doctor that seriously only her memory being erased could have ever separated her from the Doctor. She would have traveled with him forever if she could. She was a true friend to the Doctor when he needed one most. While she might tease him sometimes, she has only good intentions towards the Doctor, which I love about her.
Eleventh Doctor: Rory Williams
While he probably wouldn't have ever endeavored to go on the adventures with the Doctor if it wasn't for his wife, I seriously loved Rory. He was always the odd man out because he was Amy's husband, but he was seriously amazing if they gave him a chance. He was so hilarious, and I loved how he was always the one to be like, "How about no." I loved the relationship with him and Amy. Amy was awesome, but Rory was way more awesome in my opinion.
