4 Things that I Actually Don't Like About Doctor Who

#1) The *cough* Innuendos *cough*
I've gotten used to this particular thing (though I shouldn't have to be... but it used to really bother me and I didn't want this thing to bother me anymore).... but it needs to be said that this stuff really just needs to be left out of all entertainment, and I wish it wasn't in Doctor Who especially. If you don't like "innuendos" avoid the following episodes: "The Parting of Ways" (Captain Jack Harkness does a thing), "The Unicorn and the Wasp" (things implied 😛 ), "Closing Time" (this one really irks me 'cause the Doctor does most of the implying 😣), "A Good Man Goes to War" (Vastra and Jenny and also some other dudes... 'Nuff said), "The Snowmen" (again... Vastra and Jenny 😒), "The Crimson Horror" (Vastra and Jenny 😐), and "Deep Breath" (Vastra and Jenny 😑)

#2) Some of the "Extra Weird Episodes"
"The Unquiet Dead", "Tooth and Claw", "The Impossible Planet"/"The Satan Pit", "Fear Her", "The Shakespeare Code", "The Fires of Pompeii", "Hide", "Under the Lake"/"Before the Flood"... to name a few. I just don't like all of the weird stuff... but not like the good weird stuff (cause I love the good weird stuff)... the bad weird stuff... and yeah. I don't like it. 😛

#3) Ashildr/Me
My opinion is no on this whole character. The Doctor goes to save this girl, and then all of a sudden she's all mad at him for saving her. He should've left her to be The Girl Who Died. I don't like The Woman Who Lived. She's a total meanie, and I don't like her at all. 😤

#4) The Sisters of Karn
These people are basically the "witches" of Doctor Who, and honestly, they're unnecessary. I wish they weren't in it. If they could've just been left out for all of time, that would've been great. 👍

What to do with a New Doctor or Companion

So with the new companion being introduced last weekend, I thought I'd write this to help those of you still not over Clara. But, also to help those of you in the future! You're welcome.

Step 1: Realize that that the previous one is (more than likely) never coming back.
This is more true with the fact of the Doctor than the companion, but this realization needs to be had with both. You loved them, and now they're gone. It's better to have love and lost, then to have never loved at all. Am I right? Let's be happy that they were there for as long as they were.

Step 2: Get excited about the new one!
Yes, that's right. GET EXCITED! They're new! Find some reason to like them. Whether it be their hair, their goofy face, or even a bit of their personality that you've seen! Just find some reason to like this person before EVER even watching the next episode. I know from experience (at least for a Doctor) that if I don't get excited about the new Doctor that I will more than likely not like him as much as the other ones. This is proven by how I feel about Nine. I started on him shortly after I had lost my Fluffy Haired Doctor (Tenny), and Nine was just tainted for me the entire time I watched him. I love Nine, but just not as much as the other ones. So just find some reason to like them before you watch them. ☺️

Step 3: Give yourself time to adjust to the new one.

For me, it usually takes up to three episodes to get adjusted to a new companion or Doctor. Though, it has taken longer for me before. Like for the First Doctor, it took me a whole season to get used to him. So just give yourself time to get used to them, use the excitement from step 2 to aid in this to make it go faster.

Happy traveling! ❤️

4 Things I've Learned from Doctor Who

This one is a bit more serious, just a heads up.☺️

Childishness doesn't necessarily mean that you're not mature: This is proven by the mere existence of the Doctor. There's even a couple quotes for that.
Jo: “Doctor, stop being so childish.”
The Third Doctor: “What's wrong with being childish? I like being childish.”

Sarah: "You're being childish!"
The Fourth Doctor: “Well, of course I'm being childish! There's no point being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes.”

And I know from personal experience that being childish and mature is possible... because I'm just that.

Weird is cool: We all know that the Doctor is cool, and we all know that he's weird. Heck, he's the definition of weird. He's impossible. But he proves the fact that weird is definitely okay. Don't be ashamed of your “weirdness” because that's what makes you... well... you!

Craig: “Has anybody ever told you that you're a bit weird?”
The Eleventh Doctor: “They never really stop.”

We may lose friends, but that doesn't mean there isn't a chance for new ones: We've seen the Doctor loose so many companions, whom he considered his very dear friends. There have been times where he just wanted to give up (as proven in The Snowmen and in the specials that followed after Journey's End). There's always a chance for redemption in friendships, even if it means making new ones.

It's okay to be optimistic, even in really bad circumstances: So many times have we seen the Doctor in bad circumstances. Yes, there have been times where he wasn't that optimistic because of one thing or another. But, at most times, he's fairly optimistic about it all. He makes jokes in the middle even, just to lighten the mood.

The Eleventh Doctor: “My experience is that there is, you know, surprisingly always hope.”

WHO DOES THE GLOMP?

Yes, you read this title right. I write this blog post in honor of my friend, Zach (this article was totally his idea). This is about which Doctors I think would be most likely to do a glomp. If you don't know what that means, it's basically a tackle with a hug. 😉

First Doctor
Definite no. He's not much of a hugger to begin with, let alone a glomp! He'd rather be lazy and sit down then do that! 😆

Second Doctor
Yes!!!! He's more of a hugger than most of the old Doctor Who Doctors (at least of the ones I've seen), and it seems like he would be likely to do such a thing with him being so mischievous and all. 😊

Third Doctor
Eh. Probably not. He's not against them. He'd be too busy enjoying his coffee to want to do a glomp. I just can't imagine him doing one.

Fourth Doctor
Sure. :D He's so adorkable, and I can totally imagine him doing a glomp. What? It's the childish side of him, okay!

Fifth through Seventh – N/A

Eight Doctor
Uh-huh, yeah. Definitely. 😊 He'd probably even be saying, “I love these shoes!” while glomping.

Ninth Doctor
Nah, too much of a tough guy to want to do a glomp. Hug, yes. Glomp, no.

Tenth Doctor
Yes!!!!! He'd probably be the coolest glomper. 😆

Eleventh Doctor
Of courseeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! HE'S SUCH A HUGGER. HE LOVES HUGS. HE'D DEFINITELY DO A GLOMP!!!!

Twelfth Doctor
Ha! Heck no. He hates hugs. He'd never glomp. Ever. Never ever ever. Rock that guitar, bruh!

To Classic Doctor Who, or Not To Classic Doctor Who?

That is the question, isn't it? It all depends on the Whovian. So here's an answer for each kind of Whovian!

The Die-Hard Doctor Fan (basically, me) -
The answer: YEAH

You're just completely in love with everything the Doctor, and you literally can't get enough of the guy. He's one of your favoritest characters in the world. Whether you've got a teeny tiny crush on him, or you just really love his character (*ahem* me): You just want to see more!

I've found that watching the Classic DW has tremendously helped me understand the Doctor better. It's like seeing an origin story of Batman (*ahem* Gotham). It's also interesting to see how the Doctor is pretty much the same throughout time, just a little different. As you watch, I bet you'll appreciate the Doctor all the more! I know as I've watched that I've grown to love the Doctor increasingly, and I'm sure you will too. 😀

The Curious Whovian -
The answer: YEAH

You've been watching Doctor Who for a long time, and you probably really love it. (You are reading this article, aren't you? Yep, definitely love it.). But you're just wondering: What's up with the Classic Doctor Who? You may have heard of it from your fellow Whovians, or you may have just happened across it like: What is this???

If I were you, don't listen to the phrase: Curiosity killed the cat. In this case, watching the Classic Doctor Who may be the way to go for you. Don't just wonder about the previous Doctors, watch them! (Heck, I've found my favorite Doctor in the classics!) Plus, you get to meet beasties yet to be seen in the new Doctor Who, such as the Zarbi. It enhances the experience even in the New Doctor Who. Which after seeing the Classic; you'll definitely want to see the new again! I've been watching the new Doctor Who with my family, and I've noticed so many things that I didn't notice before (such as Brigadier, jelly babies, reversing the polarity, etc). Not only that, though, there are a whole bunch more stories. I'm sure you'll really love it!

The Intellectual Whovian -

The answer: YEAH

You just wanna learn as much as possible about everything Doctor Who. Maybe you like reading fun facts about Doctor Who and knowing literally everything there is to know. You just wanna know it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would definitely like watching Classic Doctor Who. You'll be able to learn about everything there is to know (that is, if you're willing to watch the missing episodes {I've done it, it's not so bad 😉 [sometimes I even liked the missing episodes more]). I bet there's a whole bunch of things to learn about Doctor Who just from watching! Plus, you could look up those fun facts that you just love after you've watched an episode. 😉

The Writing Whovians -
The answer: YEAH

You're just searching for more of everything. You're a writer, and you just see things that just don't make sense. You just want to get to the bottom of it! WHAT'S UP WITH THE JELLY BABIES? WHO'S SARAH JANE? WHAT'S K-9? WHO'S BRIGADIER? WHY IS CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON THE NINTH DOCTOR? Or maybe you just wanna know as much as possible so you can write some good Doctor Who fanfiction!

For you, definitely watch Classic Doctor Who. It reveals all the aforementioned things, plus more! And if you're really into it, you could even take some notes while you're watching. 😉

The “Well...” Whovian -
The answer: Maybe.

What I mean by “Well...” is... well... just imagine how Tenny said that.
Yeah, that's you.
You like Doctor Who, but it's not your favorite thing in the world. I mean, yeah, you'll watch Doctor Who, you like it well enough. But, you don't go all fangirlly about it like some people. You've heard about the Classics, but you just don't know if you'd like it.

Well, if you like Doctor Who, you may or may not like the Classic Doctor Who. It really depends on how much you like older TV Shows and such. Because the Classics have many of the things that define an older TV show. If you like that sort of thing, sure: go ahead. Watch it.
But, if you're not that big of a fan of older TV Shows, then I wouldn't suggest watching Classic Doctor Who. For the mere fact of... it's an older TV Show. And, I just don't think it would be worth your time. ☺️

The Not-So-Into-It Whovian -
The answer: NAH

You see other people really enjoying Doctor Who, but you just don't see it. Why is this popular? You don't necessarily hate Doctor Who, but you just don't like it all that much. You hear about Classic Doctor Who, and you're like: “HM? Maybe I would like this?”

Well, I can say right now that you'll more than likely not like the Classic Doctor Who. Sure, you may like older TV Shows. But, if you're not that into the Doctor Who to begin with, then I just don't think you'd like the Classic.

The “Anti-Twelve-ites” Whovian -
The answer: NAH.

You love the Doctor, but you just really don't like it when he becomes old and grumpy like the Twelfth Doctor. After him, you've completely given up on Doctor Who. But you just want more of the Doctor!!!

Sorry, but if you want a young Doctor: You're looking in all the wrong places. The Classic Doctor Who has a grandpa Doctor and many more “not young” Doctors. The first you'd really see of a young“er” Doctor would be Five, but even then, the clothes would probably ruin it for you. I'd just stick to Tenny and Elevensies, if I were you. Get some comics and books of those two sweeties! 😀 (Yes, those do exist.) Enjoyyyy!!! ❤️

Now that that's out of the way...

You're probably still wondering a few things about the Classic Doctor Who. You at least now know whether or not you should watch it, but what now?

Well here's a few things you might want to know!

The Doctor to Start With: If you're like me, and you're like: “I don't know, man. I just don't think I can make it through the black and whites!” No problem! Start with Three. He's a great Doctor to start with for the Classic Doctor Who. But, I will insist that after you're done with Three, go back and watch One and Two. It gives more backstory of what happened before Three, that will otherwise be left unsaid! (Plus, Two is the best. Just throwing that out there.)
But, if you don't necessarily care, just start with the First Doctor. He's awesome and so lovable. Beware, though, he's a little hard to get used to at first, but I promise he's so worth it in the end. 😃 (He's a bit like the Twelfth Doctor, only the First Doctor is more... how do I say this... Well. He literally acts old. {Which is totally ironic since he's the youngest Doctor [not actor, he's the third oldest actor to play the Doctor])

Just So You Know:
1) The graphics aren't all that great. I probably don't even have to say that. It did start in 1963. But if you're concerned about it ruining it – don't worry, it doesn't. In fact, after a while, I've grown to appreciate it. ☺️
2) It took me like three seasons to get used to the script writing, but after that, it's a breeze. (But that's probably just the writer in me. So this is more to my fellow writers.)
3) Also, if you know absolutely nothing about the Classic Doctor Who or older TV Shows (like me), you should know that each episode is a serial. MAKE SURE YOU START WITH PART 1! (I know that sounds silly. Why would you start with any other part? Well, let's put it this way, if you don't double check, you'll be confused as to why you don't know what's going on. I didn't double check the first time I started watching Classic Doctor Who, and I felt really confused like I had missed something. Turned out that I had accidentally skipped the first part of the episode.)
Note: This isn't much of a problem for those of you who decide to start with the First Doctor. But in his last season (starting with The Savages) you need to make sure you start with Part 1.

And that's pretty much all you need to know about starting the Classic Doctor Who! 😀

Dr. Who vs. Doctor Who: What's the Difference?

Dr. Who is a person (and movie series with only two movies, thank goodness). He’s from the two movies: “Dr. Who and the Daleks” and “Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D.” The plot lines of these movies are based on “The Daleks” and “The Dalek Invasion of Earth” during the First Doctor. It’s a direct remake of these episodes because the company wanted to make them in color. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the original cast.

Dr. Who (he seriously introduces himself as Dr. Who) is “the Doctor” (I know I put quotes around this, I don’t consider Dr. Who to be the Doctor in any way shape or form), he’s roughly based off of the First Doctor (I personally think Peter Cushing completely murdered the character). He has two grandchildren: Susan {AKA Suzie, she’s a little girl (which isn’t right with the original series, she’s supposed to be a teenager, but it worked. I liked this Susan better than the original)} and Barbara (NOT TRUE, SHE WAS SUSAN’S TEACHER). Ian Chesterton is Barbara’s boyfriend (ALSO NOT TRUE; because they don’t even reveal their romantic relationship till they’re married in The Sarah Jane Adventures; then there’s the fact that he was also Susan’s teacher).  The best part of these two movies was Ian, and he was only in it for the first one. He was such an adorable klutz.  {Note: Pretty much all the characters aren’t right in these movies, but I just loved Ian. ❤️ }

Dr. Who is in no way the Doctor. I think he’s human even, he’s not even an alien. He built the TARDIS, instead of stealing from Gallifrey. He has TWO granddaughters instead of just one. So, yeah.

(Sorry if I have offended you in any way because of my dislike of these two movies.)

On the other hand…

Doctor Who is a question (and a TV Show). We don’t really know the Doctor’s name, and that is why whenever you watch an episode it always asks you, “Doctor Who?” (only the question mark is missing, obviously). All we really know is that he goes by the Doctor.

The Doctor is referred to as Doctor Who a few times in the old Doctor Who (mostly during One and Two, and some episode titles of some other Doctors), but other than that; he’s mostly referred to as Doctor, as it is today. I think the Doctor was called Doctor Who so much that he just accepted it for a while, but he probably got bored with that and is now wanting to be…

“The Doctor. Just the Doctor.”

(Note: This is just a guess from my knowledge of the Doctor. I don’t know for certain.)

So remember. It’s the Doctor; not Dr. Who. Doctor Who; not Dr. Who. (And also, don’t call him Doc. He doesn’t like being called Doc.)

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Hahaha kidding.

Unless your Whovian is vicious, which is a bit unlikely.
